4 months before the car accident that caused a re-bleed.


This is me with DJ Eric Leikim - a well loved Austin DJ who had dubbed me:"A kinder, gentler Tori Amos." I was being interviewed as a featured artist on Magic 95 Mother's Day in May of 2003 just before we left Austin for Southern California.

After putting out my frist CD Acoustic Purfurme produced by Tim Records (Austin City Limits) in time for Lilith Fair - and has been played at many births as well as getting considerable local Austin airplay. Then followed up by Shades Of Images in 2002 with one of Austin's most sought after producers Mitch Watkins. and was getting interest with MCA while the CD was getting airplay on many stations onseveral Austin Radiostations and then decided to head to Southern California in June 2003 to follow up on some opportunities for my music there.

 We had lived in San Diego before the 10 years in Austin and so we knew lots of places to play. Whole Being Weekend & Adam's Street Fair ... and I played a weekly Miracles Cafe gig. In September I got a job teaching yoga - where they allowed me to teach my own set:
Yogadance Flow in my intermediate class and I was talking to several of my best students about making a DVD with with them of it.

I had also gotten a comedy traffic school instructor job like I had been doing in Austin after doing Stand Up Comedy in clubs where I admitted to being a Rockaholix - (everyone in Austin that I know is a Rockaholix and proud of it - so was really funny to most people in Austin to went out weeknights at midmight to catch the best music shows. Since then, I see now how our whole culture has turned more ROCKAHOLIX - Rocker Barbie, Rocker Bratz Hannah Montannah and all the 5 years old who want to be her - our whole culture has become Rockaholix - and that's because the power of rock is huge... and awesome when it is constructive and positive... and based on the later 60's ideals civil rights adn justice for all - a real peace... really!

Anyway now the whole idea has moved into the Rockaholix MOVIE PROJECT. I had hosted a music, art, & activism type TV show that had lead into acting in films, and then when we has our son... I had to slow things down a bit and work where I could take him along... and I began Fung Shui-ing dressing rooms for Rockstars with Red Dawn - a gifted spirit who has landed the very fun job of entertaining the entertainers with theme based dressing rooms. I loved it and I was able to do Transparenting Tarot Readings back stage where I left my FOODCOOL book & Kits to the known touring musicians who I connected with - to help them keep centered on their health while touring and inspirations to live that way. In essence, I supported many in finding their inner rockstar - famous musician or not!

 

 


I have had a magical life... following my bliss... and learning all about health and healing with all who had something to share along the way.
This had prepared me to be able to connect with all kinds of people and see each situation from what it had to teach me.. to put into a song... or tool to help and inspire myself and others with.
I had a blast as a comedy Traffic School Instructor - where it was my job to talk to people for 8 hours...
and get them to see that:
"How we drive are car is how we drive our lives and relationships."

So it was more like a sensitivity training that people were not expecting to come to
and even comedy traffic school can be a long day... you may feel forced to "waste" yet because
Your teacher was admiting to be a rockaholix - and the day was filled with comedy -
while offering all kinds of fun introspective games from my Transparenting Material.
Each fun task was a way to see into ourselves and how we were living our lives... with a personal inventory and deep look into ones life & relationships& especially Relationship Chemistry.
At the JCC Paz & I started doing a Transparenting Workshops after being hired from students in my classes - where many opportunities came... but the best part was when they were grateful for getting the ticket - the "Shockabuku" (A swift, spiritual kick to the head that alters your reality forever.)
that woke them up to their own lives... and they came to see that by coming to the day we shared.

One of the perks about talking about my Rockaholism - is that many could relate, and I would be able to plug my gigs in class and many of my students from Traffic school and yoga class would come to the cafe and festival gigs, around and I was starting to showcase in LA.
(I really am a rockaholix - rockin' for peace.)
I had found people who got my positive music... and found I was a new thought musician playing at New Thought Churches& Spiritual Centers where I was also taking classes on the positive thinking understandings that matched my songs & inspiring enjoying the process of growing.

I had taken all the classes to then become a practitioner and I was considering becoming a Reverend of this non-denominational positive energy of the Global Vision of service towards peace at the heart of the many who were seeing that it went beyond religion of separation into a feeling of unity of all faiths - and that was the tone sat best with me and what my music was about long before I knew of it.

I felt like a life of weddings and blessing babies - supporting people in their growth and allowing the best in them to come into being... this is a life that was what I was doing yet as a Reverend I could do more and reach more people. So I was open to what Spirit asked me to do while I was preparing to be in a space to do the best of what I have to offer.

Our life was very busy but I loved it - after a 30 year yoga practice I was full of energy and along with doing most of the errands for our house I was also homeschooling our son with Paz who could work at home when I worked - while I looked for a school for him.
We had just found a townhome closer to where Paz was working - he was driving 50 miles a day when he came in for work - most days. And I had a lead on a school for Zack and it looked like he would be starting in January at a small Montessori school - things were looking up.

November 15th 2004 after finishing cleaning our old apartment,
I handed over the keys the manager and then went to my car.
I was really tired... it was the last thing I needed to do to complete our very tough move.
I was more than exhausted from still working the whole time we moved with my
All my jobs were high energy networking jobs and I loved that part even more.
I could do none of this without my smile... I was constantly networking. It was my life.

Before starting the car I noticed my right eye was blurry so I looked at it in the rear view mirror
and that was when
I NOTICED MY SMILE WAS GONE ON THE RIGHT SIDE!
It was gone for 9 days... Nov 15th, 2004 - Nov.23rd 2004 -
and this is why it healed - perhaps a miracle that I listened & responded quickly...
yet this "healing miralce" is a completely explainable one.

I immediately called my Acupuncturist friend who kindly did a treatment for me at her home
this shifted the energy by arresting the downward spiral - and opening any blocked channels.
She even offered me a hot macrobiotic meal. Than night she my angel... and it was
just what I needed to calm down enough to drive home - my right eye that had been blurry
now was fine and I could drive home.

The next morning I remembered a treatment that came back to me after not thinking about it much since I was taught it at 18 by Nancy Busnack of Reevis Mountain Healing School - a community I was part of then - and they were a group of advanced healers who were putting an intentional community and school in the Mountains where I grew up in Arizona. They took me under their wing and I began to learn all about healing from these wise folks who were at the age I am now.

So I began doing a jin shin jitzu tune- up exercise called Morning Flow that was helping on so many levels - so I did it every morning and began developing concepts with other point combinations, Chakra understandings, with prayer and spiritual intentions for each location.
Acupressure Point Harmonization has now developed more and more into something
I do all the time now for all kinds of pains and spasms - also for a daily tune up & a diagnostic tool.

I do points on my son before bed to help him sleep and can now offer custom layouts for people to do energetic work on themselves for their unique needs they're working on.
I love to teach people Appreciations Flow APH: Acupressure Point Harmonization
that can be both a self-diagnostic "check in" tool
and a self-healing method that's powerful to do daily and then after my bath I woudl do my yogadance flow set. I was in no pain... only numbness on my right check
and loss of the smile muscles.

I ordered Hydergine and began taking it as soon as it came (9ml a day).

I went in to see my integrated MD Dr. Stephen Center in San Diego, CA who used Homeopathics that are all from HEEL who are the edge of the latest Homepathic understandings out of Germany.
He has many longevity tools & understanding - in addition and it helped me to return my smile fast.
I feel it was the energetic work together with the Hydergine & deep understandings about why I lost it - that Carolyn Myss helped me to understand. These deeper life understandings along with Dr. Center's treatments & continual energy work along with my Yogadance Flow set of yoga I have been doing and developing during my over 30 year yoga practice.
When I lost my smile I could still do my yoga and that made all the difference
when after the accident that was not an option.

 Once the facial muscles responded again and I could smile - the night of Nove 23rd...
I knew that I could do all my energetic work… the muscle was back and I was working it out… building up the strength with face massage. I found someone to sub for me on 11/18/04 yoga class and my boss Diane taught Comedy Traffic School Class for me on Saturday 11/20/04 Then, I had Thanksgiving day off from my weekly Thursday yoga class (11/25/04) and Thanksgiving weekend off from teaching Comedy Traffic School - and that gave me some time off of work to get some good rest that I needed after the move. I was back to teaching my yoga class Dec 2nd and I taught Comedy Traffic School Dec 3rd at The Comedy Store and another that weekend and I was back to my busy life with my 4 part-time jobs that I loved. Dr. Center and I saw it as a stress reaction and that was why he did not have me go
to a Neurologist - or get an MRI - it did not seem that serious and healed so quickly. I was not in ANY pain–only numbness & "loss of smile" affected. By the beginning of the new year... I got a new job as Musical Director of a New Thought Church where they loved my songs and inspired me to write new ones each week.

I feel it was the energetic work together with the Hydergine & Homepathics that made it open up so fast.
You could not take the smile off my face... I was so grateful. We celebrated the holidays in our new townhome and
and our son who was 7 was begging for a baby... we finally felt settled enough and after the loss my smile I knew I wanted to have a another baby more than anything in the world.
So I went to a chiropractor - to prepare my body for the baby a week before the accident happened.

ENERGETIC MEDICINE - IT IS SOMETHING THAT ALL CAN DO &

When I was pregnant I trained in 3 styles up to Master level of Reiki:

Energy Medicine came natural to me after years of yoga...
20 years of it at the time of my son's birth.
During this amazing preganacy where beside studying Reiki...
I studied Feng Shui for the nesting instinct and Belly Dancing for the labor
that was only 4 hours - 3 & 1/2 in the water.

I tell pregnant woman all the time to remember to stand and use gravity in your favor...
then to add the rotation of the hips at the last few pushes...
It made all the difference and then there was the full moon that helped too I'm sure.
